A red-lantern district thug, Han-gi is a stranger to happiness. One day he runs into Sun-hwa, a fresh-faced, pure young girl, totally different from himself. He feels strongly attracted to her and forces himself on her in a kiss. She insults him enormously and so he cooks up a scheme to have her sold into prostitution. He hides behind the mirror in her room, watching her with a desperate sort of love of his own. In the midst of her despair, she slowly begins to understand Han-gi's cruel but beautiful love for her.
